Cedarwood / Vetiver
Drymer
16 September 2022
"The essential oil of the Virginian cedarwood has an extremely woody and dry smell, which, to some, is reminiscent of the smell of pencil leads. Drymer translates this into a very punchy bass lead that dominates throughout "Cedarwood". The essential oil of the vetiver roots, which are mainly grown in Haiti, smells like smoked, slightly burnt, wood. The ominous atmosphere of the track, characterized by a very strong bass and an alarm which evokes tension, is reminiscent of the smell of burning wood and the endurance of the Haitians."
